OVERVIEW
Founded in 1997 in Seattle by Jason Hughes and Nabil Ayers, Sonic Boom Records started in a modest space, reflecting the founders' love for indie rock and their desire to escape conventional careers. The store gradually became a focal point in the Northwest indie rock scene, notably contributing to the success of bands like Death Cab for Cutie.
